Research Focus: Health Disparities and Disaster Reponse,
Erica Shelton, M.D., MPH is a PACER Fellow and a Johns Hopkins
Emergency Medicine Research Fellow. She holds an MPH from the Johns
Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an M.D.
After completing her emergency medicine residency at the Texas
Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Shelton joined the
Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine as a Research Fellow in
2012. She is currentlypursuing a degree through the Graduate
Training Program in Clinical Investigation at the Bloomberg School
of Public Health. Her research interests include health
disparities, disaster response, and efficiency of health care
delivery models. Other areas of special interest include
health literacy within emergency department populations, especially
among underserved communities.
